Writing for Change

Share the joy

AUTHOR’S NOTE: Co-author Trina Noelle has decided to move onto other endeavors, and will no longer be writing for the blog.  I will still be posting new articles every Monday.

A lot is going on in the world that can make us feel like our hands our tied in our ability to affect positive change. I myself have felt this frustration, wanting to help but not always knowing how.

Luckily, the Universe always knows just how to respond when we ask. This week I received the Amnesty International “Write for Rights” flyer in the mail. It’s an opportunity to stand up for those defending human dignity using only our pens. Between now and December 31st, those who participate can write letters to one (or more) of ten champions who are risking their own wellbeing to help elevate ours.

Hundreds of thousands participate in this letter writing campaign each year, and Amnesty International leverages the supportive letters to demand legal changes that bring the cases to justice and provide hope for the human right’s defenders families. If you’d like to join the campaign, you can find the 10 causes at amnestyusa.org/WriteForRights, and use your voice and skills to tell those standing up for a human rights that you have their back.

  1. Sad to hear Trina with not be sharing her powerfully inspiring words on the Schmuck’s site. But I trust that there are no mistakes in life and each journey is an opportunity to delve deeper into the mysteries of who we are and why we are here.
Good luck and much love to you, Trina.
And Kirstie, may your new journey be blessed with joy as you walk a faithful path into the joyous unknown. Your loving spirit is a refreshing breath, and your humor a delightful respite from the realities that affect the world.
    Love & blessings,
    Namaste! Reni
