We periodically pick creatives to be featured on our blog who are using their gifts to not only uplift themselves, but also to help shape a more conscientious and uplifting world.
Today we wanted to showcase what 3 of them have been up to since being featured on our website:
Dana has continue on with Create to Donate and Goods Giving Back, two projects which connect DIYers, buyers of handmade items, and nonprofits. Crafters can use their talents to give back to the community by donating there creations to a variety of charitable causes at Create to Donate. Goods Giving Back then showcases these gifts for shoppers to peruse.
In addition, Dana now has another uplifting endeavor to empower cultural literacy: How in the World seeks to teach children and adults alike to embrace the unique and varied ways that people view life. As Dana explains in her article Let’s Empower Cultural Literacy, the project’s goal is “giving people the information, tools, and resources to gain a deeper understanding of people, languages, and traditions different from their own. My hope is that through exposure and education, children of all ages will see the beauty in both the similarities and the differences we share regardless of where we live or how we identify culturally.”
You can find books, gifts, and great resources to help spread the message of compassion and celebrating cultures on the How in the World website.
